Romain de Tirtoff (November 23, 1892 – April 21, 1990) was a Russian born (St. Petersburg), French multi-talented artist known by the pseudonym Erté, a French pronunciation of initials R.T. Erte worked in several mediums – graphic design, fashion illustration, stage and costume design, and bronze sculpture. His delicate, elegant, sophisticated and glamorous style makes him the brightest representative of Art Deco period in which he worked. Here is a bit about him and his work…
